Kyle


Located on IH 35 south of Austin, Kyle is the fastest growing town in Hays County with burgeoning housing in Plumb Creek division, and new shopping centers featuring big  box stores like Target and an HEB-Plus and smaller businesses such as a Starbucks.

The historic down town is also blooming again with boutique restaurants like Motley Menagerie Tea House on Center Street across from the Katherine Anne Porter Literary Center The childhood home of Pulitzer-prize winning author Katherine Anne Porter hosts literary readings and serves as a writers’ residence for graduates of the MFA program in creative-writing at nearby Texas State University.

The City of Kyle houses Animal Control in the Police Department  and does not operate an animal shelter, rather it redirects interested people to San Marcos Animal Shelter.  However there is a privately owned shelter in Kyle.

PAWS Shelter and Humane Society

PAWS Shelter and Humane Society (PAWS) was founded in 1986 as a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization providing care and love to homeless, abandoned, and  abused animals in Central Texas. We are a no-kill shelter that believes in  second chances! At PAWS, companion animals are given medical attention, care, and love for however long it takes for us to find them a loving home.

PAWS is relentless in our  effort to save lives and change lives.
